In early 2021, regional Australian agricultural and commercial operators began experimenting with utilizing excess rooftop solar and stranded power assets for computing loads. However, operators were frequently left stranded when high ambient summer temperatures caused thermal shutdowns, or when imported machines suffered hashboard failures with zero domestic repair support.

Focus Layer Core was founded in Cowwarr, Central Gippsland, by a team of licensed electrical contractors and hardware electronics specialists. Rather than treating crypto mining as an abstract financial asset, we treat it as an intensive industrial electrical and mechanical discipline governed by ohms, amperes, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.

Over the past five years, we have trained hundreds of farm operators, facility managers, and electrical apprentices to diagnose hashboards at the component level, measure domain voltages, build sound-dampened hot aisle enclosures, and conduct AS/NZS 3000-compliant three-phase load balancing.
